# Intern Spotlight: Meet Kaje

We're shining the spotlight on the people behind Conversaflex. In this edition, we sat down with **Kaje** for seven quick-fire to deep-dive questions.

## 1. What do you study and where?

I am pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration at the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University.

## 2. How many languages do you speak?

Two — I can speak English, and elementary French.

## 3. Why did you want to work for an EdTech startup specifically?

Education is the ultimate equalizer, and an EdTech startup allows you to scale impact instantly. Working at the intersection of machine learning and modern education means building tools that immediately improve how people communicate globally.

## 4. What made you choose Conversaflex over other opportunities?

The Conversaflex technology was key to my decision in choosing Conversaflex. Such powerful technology that has the ability to empower learning amongst so many people really interested me. The team and the tech were the main reasons I chose Conversaflex.

## 5. What are you hoping to learn or master during your time here?

Honestly, I want to see what it actually takes to scale a tech company from the inside. Going to school for business gives you the theories, but it doesn't teach you how to pick up the phone, find the right enterprise buyers, and pitch a product that solves their actual problems. I'm here to master that entire sales pipeline, from mapping out a brand new market to closing deals that keep our revenue moving upward.

## 6. What is the biggest misconception people have about how AI intersects with human learning?

I think people assume that putting AI into education makes the whole experience cold or disconnected. But looking at it from a growth perspective, it's actually the exact opposite. Technology is the only way we can make high-quality learning accessible to everyone at the same time. It's not about taking humans out of the equation; it's about giving businesses a scalable tool so every single employee gets an equal shot at improving their skills.

## 7. Imagine it's your last day at Conversaflex. What impact do you hope you've left on the team, the platform, or our users?

For me, education is everything because it genuinely changes a person's path in life. When my time here is up, I want to look at our metrics and know that the deals I brought in opened the doors for thousands of people to learn a new language and level up their careers. If I can leave behind a solid pipeline of happy clients and some great sales playbooks for the next team, I'll feel like I did my part to help us grow.

# Intern Spotlight: Meet Nolan

## 1. What do you study and where?

I study Finance and Economics with a specialization in Data Science at Rotman Commerce within the University of Toronto.

## 2. How many languages do you speak?

Two — I can speak English fluently and intermediate French.

## 3. Why did you want to work for an EdTech startup specifically?

EdTech startups move fast and tackle real human challenges. Traditional education models can be rigid, but tech startups have the agility to build adaptive learning tools that personalize education for everyone.

## 4. What made you choose Conversaflex over other opportunities?

The team behind Conversaflex is what stood out the most to me! What also helped is that they are not like most other companies that treat language software like a game. Conversaflex stands out because our platforms solve tangible enterprise problems, bridging corporate linguistic compliance with highly advanced conversational AI.

## 5. What are you hoping to learn or master during your time here?

Since I'm part of the GTM and Growth team, I am incredibly focused on figuring out what it takes to help a rapidly growing startup scale sustainably. It's one thing to have a brilliant product, but mastering the actual growth loops, acquisition channels, and Go-To-Market strategies that keep a company moving forward is a whole different skill set. I'm here to learn exactly how data-driven positioning and market strategy can supercharge a tech startup's footprint.

## 6. What is the biggest misconception people have about how AI intersects with human learning?

A lot of people look at AI in education and assume it's going to make learning cold, robotic, or totally impersonal. But that's a massive misconception. When you use conversational AI the right way, it actually opens up access to high-quality, personalized learning for everyone. It doesn't replace the human element; it levels the playing field so that anybody, anywhere, can get the language training and tools they need to succeed.

## 7. Imagine it's your last day at Conversaflex. What impact do you hope you've left on the team, the platform, or our users?

For me, everything comes back to empowerment, so I want to leave people with a genuine education. Education is deeply important to me because it's the one thing that completely transforms a person's trajectory. Whether I'm helping a client realize how our AI language learning platforms can solve their team's linguistic compliance gaps, or building internal playbooks that set the next team member up for success, I want my legacy to be about knowledge-sharing. Startups move fast, but helping give people the education and confidence to grow is an impact that sticks around permanently.

# Francoflex is now Conversaflex

We have exciting news: **Francoflex is now Conversaflex.**

The platform you know, the team you trust, and the AI-powered learning experience you rely on — it's all still here. We just have a new name that better reflects where we're headed.

## Why the name change?

When we launched Francoflex, our focus was clear: help businesses in Quebec meet their French language obligations under Bill 96. And we're proud of what we've built — hundreds of professionals across industries like pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and technology have improved their French with our AI tutor, Madame Alexa.

But over the past year, something happened. Our users started asking for more:

- French-speaking employees wanted to improve their **English** communication skills too
- Teams with **Spanish**-speaking members needed support in their language
- Organizations wanted a **single platform** for all workplace language learning

We listened. Conversaflex reflects this broader mission: **AI-powered language learning for professionals**, whether they're learning French, English, or Spanish.
